Scoopler.com has released the beta of their real-time search engine for Twitter.  Scoopler also searches bookmarking sites Digg and Delicious, as well as image sharing site Flickr for real time updates.  Just pop in a search term and you’re off and running.

Scoopler also provides a nice sidebar featuring vids, images and links that are contained within any of the posts for a fast click-through.

I created a simple 13-page pdf report called Getting Started On Twitter that you can download and email to them to help them get set up on Twitter.

In my report, I cover things like:

1. What you should include in your bio information
2. How to select a profile picture
3. NOTICES - how to create your settings
4. How to use the DESIGN tab, and where to go to get a free background for your homepage to get started
5. What to tweet about?
6. How to shorten a URL and insert into your tweet, with a link to a great shortener

9. Links to great desktop and mobile apps to get started

It’s a great starter guide, especially when one doesn’t know where to start — and it’s much easier than trying to explain it all to one of your friends.  Feel free to download a copy and pass it along!

I’ve built a list of more than 20 50 commonly used Twitter apps and tools at the new social media site Likaholix.  The great thing about Likaholix is it allows you to embed images, screenshots and videos to your “like” so viewers can click around and learn more about the topic, without browsing to each url.

As an example, here’s my entry for HootSuite and you can see what I’m talking about:

You’ll find the description at the top with a link to the actual HootSuite site, a video at top right, screen shots at lower right, and a box where you can add your own comments.

I’ve added more than twenty apps for you to see, it’s easy to find the list.

1)  Just go here to sign up for an account with your name and email address

2) Once inside, go to my account here.

Here’s what your screen will look like - then just click on the “Twitter” link as shown below, and browse away!
